Three Themes in The Yellow Wallpaper

The discolor Wallpaper, by Charlotte Perkins Gilman has three written reports: comme il faut chuck up the sponge, madness, and the dangers of the rest cure. The story is pen as the secret diary of a charwoman who is diagnosed with momentary nervous de compression by her husband and doctor and is bring down the rest cure. Though the cashier wants to write, she is prohibited from any natural process due to her treatment. Thus, intromiting her to create a figure in the discolor wallpaper while in the confinement of her board. Gilman writes in The jaundiced Wallpaper, of the narrator who is apparently move to free herself from her sickness and the way of life, and she is laborious to free the woman in the wallpaper. Throughout the story, the narrator, also know as the protagonist of the story, is laborious to free herself from her illness. Readers tush pass this when Gilman writes, I think sometimes that if I were only easily enough to write a little it would re lieve the press of ideas and rest me (748). However, the narrators husband, John, does not allow her to do whatever she wants to do. Gilman writes, I dont like it a bit. I wonder-I set about to think - I wish John would transmit me away from here (751). At that moment in the story, readers can see that the narrator despises her room and that she wants to flee. The author also writes or so the protagonist trying to free the woman in the wallpaper. She writes, As soon as it was corn liquor and that poor thing began to suck up and shake the pattern, I got up and ran to help her. I pulled and she shook, I shook and she pulled, and before dayspring we had peeled off yards of that paper. A strip about as high as my flip and half around the room (755).
