Radio Broadcast - War of the Worlds

On Monday, October 30th, 1938 at 8 p.m., many Ameri fags false into, The Mercury Theatre on Air, radio program which was featuring a play by Orsen swell called The War of the Worlds. It was an adaptation of the retain by Howard Koch which was about an body politic invasion by the Martian alien race. But thither had been a very authorized change, that resulted in the confusion and frenzy of many Americans instead of practice just the standardizeds of a play it was performed like a news commit. The broadcast was mean to make everything more dramatic and compelling. As the play began, it sounded like a normal euphony station, but then thither was an interruption the news announcer affirm that in Grover Mills, NJ there was an explosion. The listeners were at the edge of their sit listening to the various actors describing the Martian landing, invasion and what was soon to be the destruction to our country. Throughout the broadcast it was announced that this was no origina l and all just a play, but this was d peerless in 40 min intervals so if you missed one you would non know that it was all re-create until the next time one was done.\nThe actors were compelling playing their split with veracity that many believed them to be actual officials such as the Government Weather sanction and announcers.
